Sandy Silverman Long Term Care Insurance..
Most of us spend our
youth simply floating through life, feeling immortal and immune to the
advances of age. Age only happens to the elderly. We will always be
able to care for ourselves competently, right?
The truth is that as we continue to age we may not always be able to
care for ourselves. We will probably all need long-term care
eventually, regardless of the feeling of immortality that we feel in
our younger days. Age eventually does catch up, and the last thing
anyone wants to do, or force their children to do, is rush around when
the need is immediate and simply settle for less-than-acceptable care.
Long-term care is not something to plan at the last minute. You cannot
wait until the moment is critical to realize that long-term care is a
necessary component of living.
What’s more, are you financially able to bear the cost of long-term
care? If not, what’s to be done? The increasing costs for long-term
care are a concern and a burden as our population continues to age
with prospects of many more years spent in retirement. Long-term care
is more a financial issue than a health issue. Moreover, the federal
government has made clear its position regarding long-term care costs
through the Health Care Portability and Accountability Act of 1996
(Kennedy-Kassebaum Legislation). The government determined that it
could not afford to pay the costs of long-term care. Can you?
The bottom line is that the choices you will have as you age will be
primarily determined based upon your financial resources. Quality of
life as you advance in years should not be diminished due to a lack of
funding or planning. The time to start is now and Sandy Silverman, a
Florida Brokerage Manager with extensive experience in long-term
care insurance, is here to assist in simplifying this process. |
